Shorin-Ryu
Shorin-Ryu is one of the earliest and most influential of the Okinawan substyles. It has strong roots in the Shaolin styles of Kung Fu. It has three main branches, the "small forest" school, "young forest" school, and "pine forest" school (each name refers to the forest where the Shaolin Temple is said to have been located).
